Principles of Contribution

  • The articles to be published in Journal of Hadith Studies must provide scholarly contribution to hadith studies in both approach and content.
  • The word limit is 7500 for articles, 4000 for review articles, 2500 for manuscript reviews and symposium assesments, 1500 for book reviews, obituaries and news about hadith studies.
  • Each article submission should contain an abstract of not more than 100 words in its original language. If the article is not in English, an English version of the abstract must also be supplied. Each article submission should also contain a list of 4 to 6 key words for indexing purposes.
  • Four paper copies of manuscripts of full articles, two copies of translations with the original copy should be sent to the correspondence address. All submissions must include either a diskette version or e-mail attachment.
  • Full articles are sent to four referees while others are sent to two referees. If the two of the four referees accept the article, the editorial board has the right to decide whether to publish it or not.
  • Editorial board has the right to ask the authors to revise their articles both in terms of content and language.

  • Authors are sent 20 copies of their published manuscripts. Unpublished articles are not returned to the author.
